THE NEW ABNORMAL
A good song bursts every vein, throws my head back and opens my throat for me to butcher it.
Having moved back in with my parents I sing the high notes as piercingly quiet as I can, fists shaking, eyes screwed shut, looking like I’m crying. Lyrics don’t need to make sense. But a good album has the prescience of a dream, overrides anything for its duration.
10th of April The New Abnormal came out.
Why haven’t you listened to it yet? It’s been almost two weeks. Put it on and that thing empties me out like the most glorious of shits. The Strokes haven’t made something like that since 2003.
That alone should be enough.
