FLAT RAT

Flat rat didn’t start so flat
He was still juicy and fat
Albeit
Flattened
To a great extent
By a car

But as the days went on
And rolled into weeks
Flat rat lost his juice
And really smoothed out
Bringing to mind
A spatular
A pancake
+ the desire to flip

How disgusting
I imagine a children’s cartoon
Called ‘Flat Rat’
In which he peels himself up
And goes about his business
Seeming entirely normal
Until coming at you side on
